Themagictouch CPM papers for hard goods works on dark items with the white toner, so was thinking that maybe their TCC papers or mage clip would do the same for textiles.
CPM if used on fabric or TTC leaves a polymer window on fabric. Have tried it? CPM stands for Ceramic Plastic Metal. It is not for fabric. The polymer of the CPM is baked on the substrate that is why it looks transparent.
Have you tried ImageClip Laser Light? I suggest you get some samples and press it on a shirt. You will find in a hurry how much toner is left behind on the transfer. Since the A sheet does not release the toner like A sheet of ImageClip Laser Dark the opaque will stick to the transfer paper and part of it with color toner are split between the transfer paper and the shirt. That is what happened when I tested it. The printer does not need to be C711WT or does it need to have white toner to test how much toner is left on ImageClip Laser Light.
In TMT's webpage for technical question:
http://www.themagictouchusa.com/faq.php?cID=2
"1. Does your light transfer paper leave a grey background?"
Here is TMT's reply to their own question above:
"TTC is the TheMagicTouch transfer paper used to decorate white and light textiles. If the image is trimmed very close before pressing, the background will be very minimal."
I copy and pasted that word for word from their website.
Since TTC has polymer background if not trimmed it will standout even worse on dark fabric. ImageClip Laser Light does not have polymer window unlike TTC but it will not work for dark fabric even if the printer has white toner.
Lets put it this way. If TTC will work with white toner on dark shirt TMT does not have to manufacture WOW transfers.
