Nice design. The design looks like about 11x14 or so is that right. The vinyl to me looks like a fluorescent pink to me. Is your cutter only able to cut 12"wide? If so what is the price per sheet that you pay? What did you pay for the shirt? How much did you agree you sell it for?

If this is one color and is 11x14 or less, you could get the plastisol transfers done for around a dollar each plus shipping for 300. I have a cameo and I cut a lot of vinyl, but I am no gluten. I'd get transfers made in a heartbeat. I estimate 5-8 minutes to cut and weed and press those out of vinyl vs 30sec to press transfers. Depending on whether your are cutting vinyl roll's or sheets. My rough calc is at 25hrs (5minx300=1500min/60=25hrs) vs (Say 1minx300=300min/60=5hrs). Seay Graphics does good work and they would be around a dollar per transfer for 11x14 1 color. Good Luck.

Now that you showed them a sample that your customer loved, you may be stuck to do the same thing for the entire order......To shift gears in the middle of the stream with a transfer or direct print may shortchange the client, because you have created an expectation in their mind of the look of those samples you provided.....Anything less or different than the sample that they loved may make them feel like you baited them, then switched......or....you might have a lot of explaining to do

Good point ;)

If your customer is okay with a plastisol transfer then I would contact one of our vendors. I use SEMO and they are awesome, but you will get many different opinions on which company to go with.

I would not be cutting and weeding those, it won't be worth it at the end.

Dis you get a deposit on those 300 shirts? Just making sure you are not gonna be left with the shirts in your closet if the customer decides not to go through with the purchase.

Have you considered finding someone relative close with a larger cutter to cut the design AND you do the weeding? As stated changing methods after client approved the concept may lose the job. As mentioned get dollars up front. I would ask 50% in advance.

I hate to burst the OP's bubble but they are going to be sorry by the time they do 300 of these unless they charge plenty. We did a large order maybe 250 pieces a few years ago in vinyl and it was definitely NOT worth our while. Didn't even get subsequent orders in the years following.

I have seen other people on the forum talk about this cameo. Had to check it out. First line of the description reads..."The Silhouette CAMEO® is an electronic cutting machine for personal use". The description also states it has a 12" cutting mat. Is that the widest it will cut? Most vinyl rolls I have seen are 15". This means in addition to the time it takes the machine to cut and you to weed that you will also have time involved in cutting a roll down to single sheets. Just out of curiosity, how much did you quote the shirts for per piece?

yeah the widest they cut is 12x24. There not made for production. Look like the op needs 600 pieces to cut. I could cut it. And silkscreen it to transfer to. I would outsource that order if I didn't have the tools to do it.

You said you completed 3 shirts with 1 yard. So you would nee at least 100 yards lol I estimate about $1000 worth of vinyl, you would be there for about a week. Sorry , I just can't image antone doing this, be very carefull so you don't lose this order.
Let me know if you need any advice.

I didn't initially see the front & back part of the order. This job is going to eat the OP's lunch doing it in vinyl. Another case where someone gets themselves a hobby machine and thinks they can run a business with it on jobs like this. Half a dozen or so shirts could net some dollars but a 600 print run? Unless the client doesn't get pricing for screen printing this from someone I doubt the OP will get this job. If they do try to compete with screen printing pricing they will find this is not worth it.

Only way I would vinyl these is if the client understood there's no price break, pay half down, and give me 30 days to complete ...getting them to agree to those terms is long shot. Then I would quote them a screen printing price and outsource it.

Additionally, leaving out the no profit aspect of this job, I don't care how well you have your work space laid out for the weeding portion of this job your back and fingers (at least the fingers holding the weeding tool) will be killing you before you're halfway through the job.
