I'm having a problem printing pictures of people on shirts. Every time I take a picture with my digital camera and try to print it out the image is dark. I just took a picture of my friend in front of his car & it was sunny out . When I tried to print it out it came out kind of shady looking. If anyone has printed portraits successfully I would really appreciate your help. Oh I have tried printing these portraits on white and ash colored shirts.

Are you using the photo color mode in the software? Also, Because you are printing on a substrate that has a narrower potential for color depth(than say photo paper), try making mid-tones lighter/raising the gamma level, and increasing the contrast. You can do this in most any photo editing software. Different cameras and photos will take varying amounts of adjustment. Experiment, and over time you will figure out what works for your situation.

I found photo mode washed out and use graphics mode with medium ink setting and a 2 color level
got in photoshop to and ton it a tad with levels bar and add a 4 percent brightness
Every photo will need different tweaking do to RIP sucks bad on printer ha
Those helpful hints should make a big difference ( I hope)
