I am very new. and I just get heat press and vinyl cutter.
It seems all methods dtg, screen printing, heat press has some pro's and con's

I saw for white shirts printing, heat press has some limitation for trimming.
for black shirts printing, dtg is kind of nightmare.
screen printing has hard to make a few shirts.

how do you think of this setup?

heat transfer with vinyl cutter for black or dark shirts and dtg for white or light shirts.

I bet a lot of persons here has more than one method to do business.
Please share your experience for that.

probably, I make plan to do both.

thank you in advance.

I have both vinyl and DTG and i find alot more demand for the DTG. About the only thing I use my vinyl for anymore is vehicle stickers and numbers on jerseys. With printing on dark shirts.....I make sure the mark up on the orders is different from light shirts to offset the extra time and ink. Sounds basic and well thats because it is. I think what a lot of us on here are forgetting is that all things being equal...yes price wins. However your personality and customer service can set you far enough apart from the competition that all things are no longer equal.

I think you have some great thoughts. Fromy my experience the DTG can be a difficult prospect for the newbie as they don't always have enough jobs to keep the printer running daily and since they are water based systems with larger ink pigments, the best DTG machines are the ones that run ever day. I actually wrote a Blog on this topic if anyone is interested in reading it.

I read your article before. The article inspired me to start heat transfer. I think there is no one answer to cover whole problem.

Thank you again.
