So I tested my new press for the first time this morning. I sort,of jumped in and just wanted to print a design to see how it turned out. I read after the fact and realized I had used laser paper but printed the design using an ink jet.

The picture came out very faded and not very colourful at all. Im heated my press to 165 Celsius and pressed for 25 seconds Can paper and the type of printer really have this drastic effect on the quality of the finished product?

Thanks for any tips

You know, I have never tried this, but would think it would be a total disaster. The paper for laser is expecting toner while the paper for inkject is not. That it would result in anything less that a huge blob wouldn't surprise me what so ever.

Apart from you printing on 'laser' paper instead of 'inkjet' paper I assume you are talking about TRANSFER papers and not ordinary printer paper?

Also, what are you pressing the design onto? Cotton, polyester, polycotton mix,.....?
