I plan on buying a used full size pneumatic pad printer. (probably by the time you read this, I already have, or haven't, but just in case)

Is there anything I should watch out for, or know? I've never done pad printing before, but I have a lot of experience in a lot of other aspects of printing.

I already know that I'm going to need to buy a lot of stuff to go with it, ink, plates (I have a laser I should be able to etch them with) a compressor, maybe a new ink cup, blade, some different pads, etc.

tell me some things I might not already know?

What I did was take a class from a Pad printer manufacture. There's one in Philly. Think it was called, All American Screen or something like that.



Maybe they have something online or training you can purchase on DVD's.

Pad printing is basically offset printing. You burn a plate, ink it up, transfer the ink to the pad, transfer the the ink on the pad to the substrate. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. When you are done you clean up with acetone.
