I just sold a job that has a 13" x 18" image area and halftones. I only have a standard format printer and no RIP so either I buy a new printer(looking at the Epson WorkForce 1100) and RIP software (looking at Simple Seps) or I find someone to output the films and mail them to me. If someone can make films for me for a reasonable price I would wait on the printer setup, if it is going to cost me $200+ I will just upgrade my printer now.

The job has two separate images(two locations) one image has three colors and the other has four, so I need a total of nine 13" x 18" films.

Please PM me with quotes.
Thanks in advance,
Brad

Thanks for the offers, but I feel now is the time to pull the trigger on a wide format printer. I am on a limited budget but I don't think I want to gamble on a used unit. I have found both the Epson WorkForce 1100, and the HP OfficeJet 7000 at a price I can live with. I have had terrible luck with Epsons in the past and never had trouble with HP. The OfficeJet 6500 I use now (when set to heavy ink) makes good opaque images, is just doesn't support super B size paper.

What are your opinions?

The WF1100 is a great printer I recommend getting refillable cartridges and blackmaxx ink. The 1100 uses pigment and can cause clogging issues and pigment ink doesn't produce as opaque as the dye ink although it will block out almost as much UV light which is what is important. It's just a piece of mind to see them that dark. There are some free programs out there were you can set it to print on a schedule. For a limited time cadlink has filmmaker DTP lite version (1100 only) for $195.

So I ordered an WF1100 remand from Epson for $110 with free shipping. I feel good about that. Next question is where to get the film(13"x19"). I have been using WP R-Film and have no complaints save the cost($1.46/sheet), I can get WP Insta-Jet from my local guys($.86/sheet), or I can try DSF ($.54/sheet)but I don't know if these are WP as it dose not say on the website.

Anyone have experience with DSF?

I just checked out the page. They changed their videos from the last time. I believe I was correct not water proof. Although if that dye ink is any good it's a heck of a price. $40 a liter I am paying $130 for blackmaxx.
