Hello Folks,

I have learned a lot from this site but I am really struggling with setting my prices for heat transfer vinyl. I have watched multiple videos and I know how much it cost for me to make one t shirt but I get confused when it comes to price breaks for multiple t-shirts. It cost the same amount for every shirt so do I mark up a certain percentage or something? I am confused.

We use pre-cut sheets (12 x 19) and charge a tenner for each one used. no price breaks unless they are a very good returning customer and you have their designs on file so it's just cut and press. if you can get 4 designs on one sheet they are charged a fiver per shirt. Be tough , it's your business.

You need to be realistic and the only way to do that is to survey what others in your area are charging.

You're selling a commodity that can be bought from you or elsewhere. Quality and service go a ways but only so far.

If you "want" a $10 net and your competitors are getting $9 .... you can overcome that with quality. If you "want" a $10 net and your competitors are getting $5 .... ain't happening.

As for a price break ......

I personally do laser heat transfer and give "no" pricing break for volumes. In fact, I openly tell customers that we focus on orders of 24 and less and I explain the reasons why. People appreciate honesty (when they can understand it). I also have a reciprocal agreement with a local screen printer for larger orders being referred to him and he refers smaller orders over to me.

It all comes down to competition.
