Is there any data out there that shows having a model wear your product in a product image leads to high conversions than having just a blank t-shirt as your product image?
For men, gap just has regular t-shirt images:
Shop clothes for women, men, maternity, baby, and kids | Gap
But for women they have models:

Then you have sites like threadless that use models for men and women.
Any thoughts?
