Hey guys,
I have a friend who had purchased a screen for his shirts a long time ago from the person who did his printing. He has provided me with the burnt screen and wants me to print some shirts for him. What would be the easiest way to tell the type of ink they used? I use Plastiol and dont want to mix the screens if they used waterbased. Is there a sign that tells which style they used? Or are you able to use the ink cleaner on both types of ink and not lose the emulsion? I don't want to lose this screen on him as it is one of kind art work. Thanks for any help

Hey Adam,

You really don't have much to worry about. If it is waterbase it will be more difficult but the emulsion should be fine. I would assume that it is plastisol at first, just to start with the most probable ink. In comparison, waterbase ink is still rare, especially with short run jobs. Just take your time and it should be fine.
