How to stack ink/film?

I'm trying to figure out how to stack ink or film to get a thick, 3d, high density ink effect. But I can't find any info on the actual process of doing so.

I know I need HD ink and capillary (400 micron?) film but how would you stack the film, i.e. expose it properly, so that you get a nice deep well for the ink??

If anyone can shed some light on this for me I would be very grateful! The design is being printed on a non-garment textile. Meaning it doesn't need to withstand washing if that makes any difference.

Thanks!! :)

Yes, good buildup of emulsion or capillary and then from there you'll p/f/p repeat until you get the density you desire. Also, you'll want to not just flood your screen, but firmly flood it so that you're getting a build through the screen mesh. Remember too, that you'll want more off contact than normal. And, adjust your print pressure accordingly too....you don't want to squash your build.

The IC dulling suede or a HD base will give you an even raise when cured. Puff creates rounded edges. I made a leather patch print for a company a few years back. I used the IC dulling suede mixed with tan a 100-200 micron stencil (didn't measure thickness back then). Created by starting with a 2/1 and dried. The added additional coats to the shirt side only and dried face up and did several times. I now have a monster coater and after the first coat and dry I can set the ends caps to desired thickness and just do 1 coat. Then I used a brown ink for the stitching and added puff to it to give a realistic thread look. I even printed a black with very fine detail to give the thread a more realistic look. From 2 ft away you couldn't tell it was a patch. Have had a bunch of inquires since but when most find out the price go another route.
