Ball point pen ink, sign ink, textile ink? Seriously, what kind of ink are you using and how are you printing it?

You should be using a sign ink like Nazdar 9700 through a high mesh count screen. If the ink is running you're probably using too large mesh.

im using claria ink, which is good for t-shirts but i dont know if it was good for the magnet paper, and im printing with the epson 1400 ink jet printer wide body! also, i used cheap thin magenet paper as a sample, could that be my running problem? What do you think.

Jay, I have used the 8.5" x 11" magnetic sheets for inkjets. Is the same? I had issues with it jamming in my C88, I tried various settings to no avail. What setting are you using? Could be your printer is layig down to much ink with your current setting. Are you getting the magnet wet and this is causing the ink to run?

yes, i made the magnet to put on my car as a sample, and it did rain the next day, thats probley why it Ran. plus i may have used the wrong setting because i used the quality picture glossy setting, what do you think might be the right setting? and do you have any other suggestions that may be helpful, because i am ready to buy a roll of the good magnet paper, but i want everything to work out right. :). So you are using claria ink on your magnet paper and it is working good?

Hi Jay. as I said in my previous post my printing of magnets did not work because of the jamming, I didn't want to damage my printhead. The brand of magnetic sheets I tried was Avery. I use Durabrite inks (cartridges) by Epson in my C88. the 1400 to my knowledge is a photo printer that only uses Claria ink, they might use ultrachrome inks also, check the Epson site.

I print on magnetic paper all the time with my c88. Make souvenir magnets etc. The c88 is a bit cranky sometimes with magnetic material but will work. 1 sheet at a time. If you are trying to get something to print that will last outside, you need to approach it another way. I make magnetic signs in my shop. Not many folks know about this method and I am a little reluctant to share, but here goes. If you want a magnetic sign etc. for outside and all you have is inkjet capability then you need to print it on vinyl, spray it with uv protectant and laminate it. I discovered a great source for inkjet printable vinyl 11x17 sheets. Do a google search for "inkjet printable vinyl". The company name is Papillio or something close. This vinyl comes in 11x17" sheets and is waterproof. I print my sheet using my epson 1280 and let it dry for about 30 minutes. I then spray the sheet with "frog juice", a uv protectant. Let this dry for about an hour. Lay the vinyl on a good quality "not paper" magnetic base "30mm" thick at least. Laminate this once you lay it down. You now have a waterproof, uv resistant magnetic sign in full color that you can retail for 50 to 80 bucks a side. Oh by the way, make sure you round off the corners with an ecacto knife to reduce the chance of the magnet blowing off. I also do custom t shirts, sweatshirts, mousepads, totes, cut vinyl signs, banners, decals etc.
