I recently discovered a alpha 60, a design company that has a line of really cool shirts. They all have this very light, faded look, and I'm wondering how to get that look. Is it water based inks? Also with the half tone, is it just really fine or how do they accomplish the near photograph quality?

Heres the link: Alpha 60 - Alpha 60 T-Shirts - Men's Alpha 60 Clothing - ASOS.com

Thanks in advance

That just looks like a basic soft hand print on a White garment. As far as the near photographic quality, I'f you zoom up, you can clearly see the large halftones. I'm guessing 25 lpi or even larger and using a charcoal gray ink. Just my guess.

It does look like they are using water based inks, but yeah it is just a simple single color print with halftones. In order to really know, you should just buy a shirt and feel it. Water based ink feels completely different from plastisol.

The halftones in there are absolutely enormous, and you could get a better look from using higher mesh screens (305 mesh), a medium gray (PMS 430C would look even better on a white, distressed shirt) and a higher lpi on the artwork (shoot for 55lpi at 300dpi, but be careful of your lights and darks with pressure on the press)
