1471 Views 12 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Louie2010
Hi all

I recently became aware that tshirts would be a great way to promote my business and after looking at sites such as vistaprint i decided il try and make my own

what i have learned in the past few days that tshirt printing is not a cheap thing to setup

But there are cheaper alternatives to printing your T shirts
with a
standard ink jet printer Argos/pc world £50
some white t shirts got mine from Qtag £1.50 each
then down to the paper i bought Jet-Pro® SofStretch™ from yolo uk 25 sheets £20

i have a iron for now until my press arrives

i have tried to make a few tshirts and to my amazement they have worked really well ,

im a complete novice to t tshirt making and this is the easiest and cheapest way i have found so far

hope you all have success in the future :)

also if your looking 4 images 4 tshirts google has millions :)

Ummmm.... those images are not free to use. They are copyrighted (and in some cases, trademarked).

course you would have to check copyright first

we all know you cant put a nike tick on your t shirts that would be illegal

That's the way we roll here. A help forum that helps people and by posting "Google has millions" may give a newbie to the industry the idea that it is OK to do when it's not!

That was Uncle Ben who said it, not Spiderman :p

cannabisseeds, inkjet transfers are indeed the cheapest way to make a t-shirt, but remember, you get what you pay for. Inkjet transfers fade on the first wash, and don't last nearly as long as the other printing methods.

nice to see forum hijackers around the place ,,

i have used forums before and always there is people that have to hijack threads ,,

think its just so they can get there website link in every page
JBG - if you read the threads - I do not think you were being attacked nor was your thread hi-jacked nor were you being policed. What you missed and sometimes happens when you have few posts (not a knock - BTW) - is that you took watching out and helping you protect yourself as attack. I believe the comment this is how we rolled was meant to be in a fun way a caution that the possibility of your internet graphics may have owners. Due to your geographical location and possible audience they may not care about legalities - does not make it right - but they just are not concern. You consistently talked about hi-jacking a thread but your actions of taking internet graphics is more of a demostration of hi-jacking. Now you will surely take that statement as an attack, but please don't. I have no dog in this hunt, I could care less about your behaviors or acquistion of graphics. What I will tell you is that by looking at other posts you will see you will always have folks that sit on both sides of the fence on any issue. Some even sit on both sides in the same post. Folks here post cautions to help folks and not necessarily the OP to stay out of trouble, Other throw caution to the wind. All good people.
If you are still reading to this point - (and do not have the munchies - pun intended to name) my point.
Those paper transfers look good but will not keep returning customers. You will have to get better processes to have a professional appearance and build returning customers that keep you in business.
Moving from vista was a step in the right direction.

i made a simple comment and people are all over it ,,
Maybe you need to look up the term "Hijacking threads" as that refers to me taking your thread and asking an entirely different question or taking the original post in a completely different direction. That's not what I did. Also don't care how many forums you have used as it is a non-factor, it more about you abiding by the rules of THIS forum. You read them when you signed up try adhering to them. You posted the comment
also if your looking 4 images 4 tshirts google has millions
that comment may lead a person that is new to this industry believe that they can just use those images at will, not knowing that they may be coypright protected. That was misleading information and Tim simply gave clarification. Then you faked joked about him being the forum police. If you have a problem with it.......get used to it because as I stated that's how we roll on THIS forum. You give misleading information...you will be corrected by many.....you don't abide by forum rules...you will be reported to a moderator by many.

:welcome:

Sorry to hear that you feel this way.

For what it's worth, my comment was not intended to hijack the thread or be the forum police. It was simply to caution you, as well as others who may read this thread at some point, that Google images are not free to use. If that is knowledge you already had, then I apologize for pointing out the obvious to you. But at least it's there for anyone else who may find value in it.

That is the key. This is an open forum, not a private message. I have learned (and continue to) a lot of good information from this forum, and I would say at least 90% of it was from reading threads other people started.
