How to make good heat transfered cotton tees?

I have a heat press and JetPro sofstretch paper. My prints always crackle after the first wash and they look horrible. You can't even see the images. I want to know which shirts are best to use and what inks are best to use. Thanks. Please don't recommend a thousand dollar printer... Thanks again for any help.

I have an epson wf1100 printer and ink from inkjetcarts.us. I use either gildan or jerzeez 100% cotton. I set the printer settings to photo. That's it no other changes. And I press the shirts for 30 seconds at 375. Hope that helps!

I use an Epson WF-7010 with durabtite ink and Gildan 100% Cotton. I press 25 sec at 380 degrees. This has worked well for me.

Do you use a CISS or Refillable Carts and bulk ink?

The material content of the shirt doesn't make a difference for transfers. I've always used 50/50 but not for printing reasons. It sounds like the ink is the issue. Be certain it's pigment ink or the results will be exactly what you're getting.
Most printers use either dye ink or pigment ink. Dye ink runs and bleeds when it gets wet, so that sounds like what your problem is. If you have an epson printer and it says "Claria" on the front, that printer is using dye ink. If it says "Durabrite" on it then you have pigment ink. You can always get refillable ink carts from CobraInk.com and buy your pigment ink in bulk from them and don't forget to download the ICC profiles from their website. If you have some other printer, I can't help you because I don't know what kind of ink they use but I would suggest an Epson printer. I have C88+ that I got for under $100 that works fine and a WF 1100 for $130 that also works fine. I use my 1400 (dye ink) for my regular paper printing needs like letters etc. One of these days I will have to get refillable ink carts for it and use the pigment ink in it too.
Also, don't wash the shirts for 24 hrs. after printing.
