I recently made my first shirt design and it got printed. But the colours aren't the same as on my design, they're much darker. Does anyone know what's the reason for this? Is this my fault? and if so, what do I have to do to make my designs ready for printing? or is it the printer's fault? thanks

A lot of times, unless you are specifying PMS colors, it's the difference between what your screen shows and what the actual color is. In other words, you can't trust your computer screen to render true colors.

It's best to buy a PMS color booklet and specify PMS colors on all of your designs.

It probably has to do with the color management settings between your monitor and printer or whether you are using CMYK or spot colors in your artwork.
