I'm attaching a pic and need some help from you guys. How do you get this effect in the lettering? There are 3 different colors in the monogram and I was wondering how it was done? Do they set a color change? or is this how the variegated thread comes out when sewn? I've never tried.

Depending on the variegated it could come out like that.

looks like maybe madeira 2028 variegated? But maybe they just went into the stitch file and added color changes? Do you have the actual garment? Look at the backside to see if you see the tails from a trim/color change. If no tails then it was a variegated thread.

I actually do have the garment and underside does not show evidence of any stops. Thanks for figuring this out for me and taking the time to answer. Greatly Appreciated!

It is an interesting look. I can just envision the questions that would arise. "Can I get this with three shades of pink and purple?" Of course the requested combination would be something they don't make in variegated... We keep a few variegated threads around and use them a lot for things like flames.

It is a cotton/poly blend red apron.

Its a multicolour thread....you can get several different colour blends depending on the supplier.
We stock fufus and they have a good range of camouflage colours
