just wondering how i could get my freehand designs onto the computer (tee). would i just scan it to lets say correl draw, then work on it? or is there a writing pad that i would draw on.???

do it on letter or legal size paper and scan it in. that's what we do.

Paper is cool.. did it a million times starting at about 3 years of age more or less.

In Corel you should learn MonoChrome design objects for the hand drawn look.. not competes with that...

Next get a pad and start to draw into your computer you will become faster and more creative.

Check out Illustrators bloat brush too.. it is very good for hand drawn vector.
