Can anyone help me get this faded effect in Photoshop? I have a typography T-shirt line and I can not figure this out. I'm pretty sure it's simple.

Here's an example of what I'm looking for.

Open a photo to use as a texture. If google high resolution textures you will find a bunch. Place on a layer above your image. Convert the texture layer to grayscale or blacj and white and play with the layer modes and opacity until you are happy.

A similar effect can also be done by just using the Render Clouds function in photoshop (Filters->Render->Clouds, it uses your foreground/background to determine the cloud colors).

One step that was left out, after you have your "distressed image" (in this case the clouds) above the text on the layer, you're going to create a "clipping" mask on your distress image layer
