Hi,
I am trying to create a black outline around the edges of the attached design so I can create contour cut for my cutter.
I am trying to create a transfer that will go on a black garment so I will need to create black outline around the whole design.
What is the easiest way to do this?
the file I have is a vector art
I have access to Photoshop-illustrator and Corel Draw

I appreciate your help

OK. In Corel Draw, select all then go to Effects and click Create Boundary. Select the Boundary and use the Contours (in the Tool Bar) to create a contour around the Boundary. Control+K will break the boundary apart which will actually give you a whole background to layer colors on top.

Thank you very much , it was a great idea.I had never used the Boundary before but somehow it didn't work on my artwork I guess it is because of the shades and shadows?!?

You know what. I didn't notice the slight red shadow around the solid red border. Delete that and try it again. The gradations in the utensils shouldn't be an issue if they are vectored objects with gradient fills.

And I wasn't thinking you're doing print-and-cut.

Or are you layering vinyl?

Yep. Just tried it.

Nix the Red shadow. You can put it back later. And if the solid Red is an outline around the text, select it and convert it to an object (Control+Shift+Q) otherwise the boundary will be around the actual text and not the outline.

Select just the utensils and the Red outline then do create boundary and it should work.

Don't do "select all" or you'll select the word "with", it's outline and the other Black outlines and solid drop shadows.

Use the boundary and create an outline around it or use the contour tool.

Glad it worked out :)

Contours are great especially if you ever layer vinyl.

If you did a contour around the boundary you created (instead of an outline), then selected it and broke it apart from the boundary (Control K), you'd have a solid layer beneath the graphic that could be cut and layered upon.

With print-and-cut, move it to the back (Control+Page Down), do a fill color and it fills all the open spaces between the letters. Pay close attention to the order of other visible layers.

Appreciated for taking a time to explain it.
I do vinyl as well and I am going to start using this more often
