I'm gonna do my first dark shirt soon but don't have a plotter/cutter.

I'm using 3G jet opaque ..
I guess the best thing to do for right now is put a border/background around the image that is the same color as the shirt, then cut around it with an exacto knife.
Now the question is.. How do I know the exact color of the shirt?
What's the easiest way to find the same color without wasting too much ink ?

I don't think it's possible to do. What a color looks like on your screen is totally different than what it looks like on paper. I have never heard too many nice things from anyone about the heat transfers for darks because of the thickness of the transfer.. and that cutting it out part.

Just make the color as close to the shirts as possible, you will be surprised how easy it blends in. I use 3g jet opaques all the time and they work fine for me you just have to find little ways to deal with the back round.
