How often does Ricoh sublimation printer need to be operated in order to maintain machine and avoid clogging problems?

I have a couple of Ricoh SG3110DN sub printers and keep them switched on, in eco mode, 24/7 and rarely have any issues.

If you keep shutting down your printer then you will have problems, and will have to do nozzle checks and head cleaning much more regularly, with a much greater wastage of ink.

If you leave the 3110 printer on, it will self maintenance every so often to keep the heads clean. This is a case of Good News/Bad News. No clogs in print head, but expensive ink goes into collection bin. Still think it's better than having to replace the head or printer.

I had a GX7000. Learned from Sawgrass it is best to leave the printer powered on. It does the self maintenance to keeps heads clean. It does use a little ink, but you don't want clogged heads.

The amount of ink used by the printer to prevent the head from clogging is miniscule compared to doing a manual clean.
