Hello everyone, this is my first post on any tshirt site so that should tell you all plenty about me.

I got a great artist to do my tshirt design which cost me 90 bucks. Next came trying to find someone who could print 5 colors (including tan and brown, will try to do halftones next time) and keep it cheap since it would be a very small sample attempt, 4 med and 4 large.

I can't find any info on their screen printing abilities but I got Visa Print to make me the 8 shirts with full graphics for 45 bucks with shipping since they were having a 50% off weekend sale.

Since I don't know/have time/money about getting a website of my own and getting visitors I'm considering just selling them on ebay to see if people are interested and maybe ebid.

The only thing I can't figure out is how much to charge for the tshirts. I don't see anyone selling for less than $10 and the research I've done if I use poly 12 x 16 bags with first class mail parcel I can get the shipping to about 3.50 or less. I'm just worried no one would pay almost 14 bucks for a tshirt.

What do you guys think is a good price to charge for a full graphic picture with 5 colors? Do you know if Visa Print does good work?

I just want to know if people will buy at a price I can make a decent profit, if no one buys this I'm out $135 all together from this investment try and I can live with that but I'd like to try and see if this will work towards the customers I think it might.

how much did each shirt cost you to have made? add your desired markup, and thats what you should sell for. add shipping after the cost of the shirt. The designs, not the price will be the biggest determining factor of whether or not your shirts will sell.

$14+ for a shirt shouldn't be a problem if it is a nice design. However, I don't see you being able to sell the shirts on ebay. Are you on facebook? Post the picture and see if anyone is interested?

I've thought about using facebook but I don't believe I can sell it on there because I don't have a website set up to send them to if they're interested. I've read that bigcartel.com might be a good place for me cause they wouldn't charge me for such a small sales quantity.

Also, I don't need to make my total cost back with the first 8 shirts, that's just a sample, if those 8 shirts can make me more money then the $45 I spend on them then I'm pleased enough. Since they cost me about 5.60 each with shipping to get, I'd be happy to sell them for 10 with the money needed for shipping, but I also don't want to sell too cheap and "leave money on the table". I'd be fine selling a second set to make up the $90 for the artwork, cause if they sell out fast enough I'll know that image will get me more sales again and will get my total investment into a profit.

I'm just not 100% on the price because it's got a shark, person and mountain and 5 colors so I feel like it should be higher priced but it's also kinda political and nationalistic. Guess I'll try a trail and error and see, I'll start high and come lower cause I read never to start low and raise your price if you do well cause that looks bad but I have no problem starting out with 15 bucks and saying 20% off if they end up not selling well at that price. Thanks all!

You cannot be successful if you cost per shirt is $16+. (90+45=135/8=16.88) That is the first issue. You need to get the cost way down.

The blanks, graphics, and print process are what determines the shirt's value. I sell shirts on ebay for $20 plus 3.99 shipping all the time.

Your cost is way too high at this point.

Yeah but that's only because of the graphic design cost which is a one time fee. Also, I only bought 8 shirts to see if they sell. If I can sell all 8 at like 12-15 bucks, that's very good for me because I can order another bigger batch and sell those for a great profit, if I can sell 20 of these shirts at $12, I'll make an almost 60% profit when all cost is taken in, and if I can sell 20 of the same design I might be able to sell 100 of the same design, lot of people buy shirts, least I hope.
