How much do I charge?

981 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  kingwoo
I have designed a rhinestone logo for a potential buyer and don't know how much is a reasonable price for just the transfer (she has the shirts, I will iron them on). Can anyone give me an idea?

The design took about 4 hours, but a better designer/software could have done it in 2. The stone cost amounts to about $3 per transfer.

The buyer said she might be buying between 12 and 24 transfers, depending on my prices.

Please help, how much can I reasonably charge for ONE transfer if she orders 10 or 20 transfers from me?

Thank you so much for your input!

Hello N2mouse!
The cost of stones, u mean the rhinestones only? Or the cost of all the materials u have used for producing the transfer, including the templates and the hotfix plastic papers?
From my experience, we charge each transfer *2 the cost of all materials. Coz u have to take into consideration of the designing & production & delivery, etc. But we are wholesale seller, our clients are shop owners.

So if it's the overall materials included for $3 per transfer, you may wanna double it, too (the other $3 is for your designing and ironing work). That makes the price be about $6. It's only a suggestion.
But I'm not sure what kind of customer is yours? Is he VARS like mine or is he an end customer? And do u need to deliver the finished shirts or will he come to pick up? U have to consider the delivery, too.

Hope above helps.

How many times have I heard "I only want one right now but I might buy 100 later". Charge a higher price for the single piece. Then let her know your dozen price if she decides to buy the dozen later. You will lose a lot of money if you operate giving customers the large quantity price on just one piece "hoping" to get that large order soon after.
I am sorry, John, I worded it poorly. She wants a minimum of 12! I bolded ONE because I only wanted price suggestions for a single transfer. I would then multiply that by the number she tells me she wants, anything from 12-24. So any idea what is a reasonable price for one transfer?

Thanks much!
