Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some professional advice on some samples prints that we had printed using discharge printing. We originally had this graphic printed using heat transfer and did not like the results, therefore, we're redoing the order out of pocket.

I just want to get some feedback before we mass produce. It looks flat and dull to me and on the top ribbon of the gray shirt where it reads "USAF" there's some issue around the letter S. I had the same problem on the heat transfer where there was some bluing. I'm not sure what causes this could someone please explain.

Thanks in advance!

Looks real dull & the font selection is kinda 'nasty' but hey i'm just picky about that stuff. :D

Being discharge I will ask..

1) Yes it looks dull but..How is the hand-feel of the print?
2) did you wash the shirts after printing?
3) printed on automatic or manual?
4) what does the shirt smell like?
5) how much did it cost you?

I would've done a combination plastisol + discharge for this job. gloss rocker font. soften the outside edges with halftones because the black stroke around the image looks constraining and change the fonts to something a bit more powerful. Some flames coming out the sides? extending the flames would look good in discharge no ugly stroke line. And maybe a outline around the text would make it pop.

I hate that solid black stroke around the graphic. Totally ruins the flame effect and makes it look like a bad photoshop or a transfer. Sorry to be so blunt. Previous poster is spot on.
No need to apologize, that's exactly what I'm looking for honesty. Besides the majority of our culture in the U.S. uses low context communication, direct and to the point. Thanks for your feedback!

I've seen some KILLER discharge prints. This one just isn't happening. Are you intent on discharge? If so, is it because of the soft hand? This is just aching for index and particularly on Black and can be done with a relatively soft hand. Maybe a White discharge underbase? This should be in the hands of skilled separator and printer as well (seps can be spot on and ruined by an experienced printer printing them).
