HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT FINDING THE RIGHT PRINTER? A LIST OF STUFF TO LOOK FOR WOULD BE NICE. I KNOW ABOUT HALFTONES AND HOW THEY WORK, BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT ALL PRINTERS CANNOT PRINT THOSE HALFTONES. PLEASE HELP. YA'LL SOLVED MY OTHER ISSUE SUCCESSFULLY.

Google for printer reviews, especially if you have a specific model in mind. These reviews are very helpful finding the right stuffs you need. Look for good performance printer, good graphics output, good speed, availability and prices for consumables.

I use an HP 9800 Deskjet, with either ghostscript, or more recently, I output bitmap halftones out of Photoshop. I had a RIP for an Epson 2200 that I sold after spending a pile trying to keep that printer going. I've used the 9800 for over 3 years now with nary a hiccup.

i used a 4mv for 10 years to make my films. very good positives for just a few cents cost. only down side that really bothered me was being limited to 11x17 sheets. i had to tile so many films over the years, even multi color simulated process jobs, those were a nightmare!

I use a Canon IX4000 to print my films. I had a laser FujiXerox and it was the best laser I had until it got dead last month. Now I am eying for a new monochrome laser to replace it, planning for a Canon brand too.

There are videos on how to convert an image to halftones and print them without using a rip. To simplify the process get accurip and an epson printer. I just printed my first 6 color simulated process job and it actually went really well. Printing the films was a breeze. I'm using an epson 1400 with accurip.
