HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT FINDING THE RIGHT PRINTER? A LIST OF STUFF TO LOOK FOR WOULD BE NICE. I KNOW ABOUT HALFTONES AND HOW THEY WORK, BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT ALL PRINTERS CANNOT PRINT THOSE HALFTONES. PLEASE HELP. YA'LL SOLVED MY OTHER ISSUE SUCCESSFULLY. :p

I use an HP 9800 Deskjet, with either ghostscript, or more recently, I output bitmap halftones out of Photoshop. I had a RIP for an Epson 2200 that I sold after spending a pile trying to keep that printer going. I've used the 9800 for over 3 years now with nary a hiccup.

There are videos on how to convert an image to halftones and print them without using a rip. To simplify the process get accurip and an epson printer. I just printed my first 6 color simulated process job and it actually went really well. Printing the films was a breeze. I'm using an epson 1400 with accurip.
