Hi

I have been looking at various methods of printing and on different types of tshirt. I have an idea, but I am getting silly quotes for printing which would end up me retailing my tshirts for £30 upwards if I was to make a profit.

Where am I going wrong?

This is a section of an email quote I received. Have I mis-understood it?

"If you wanted one sample garment with one method of print then the least expensive option we would offer you would give you a cost of around £50 for that garment"

Is that just for a sample with setup and would then each tshirt printed be at a reduced price?

This email has made me rethink my designs and business stratergy.

Thanks for any info

By which method are you getting the samples made? (Screenprinted, vinyl, pastils, directjet, etc)

Sounds like that's setup fees plus garment plus rendering. Many shops don't like ( or better yet, discount) for one offs in fact many discourage it as they are not getting the most out of the time making the one. Depending on the method in which you are getting them made its most likely the reason for the high prices.

Thanks for the info. I am going to make an appointment to discuss my requirments and to get a hands on feel of the garments. Trouble is, we have a small party happening in the UK in the next couple of weeks so everything is shutting down so everything will e on hold for a while.
