Hi All

I have been screen printing for a few years. And my design skills are all self taught. First if I have a two color job I will design in illustrator and then take it to photoshop to color separate. My question is how do I do this for cutting I have not done this before and I cant seem to separate the colors in illustrator with out grabbing the colors below so I have a ton of overlaps and vinyl to vinyl. I could separte these in two seconds in photoshop but I have no idea how to do it in illustrator. Any help or a path of where I can find the info would help a ton

Thanks
Eric

go to the top of the screen click window > pathfinder a new window will open select the objects you need to break apart then click on the first button (left side) bottom row then select the same colors (quick way is choose one then go to the top click select > same > fill color) and click the first button in the top row and they'll become one object.
