How can I make this ribbon look more 3 dimensional?

I'm trying to make this image appear more 3-dimensional but I don't have a lot of experience with gradients. Should I use halftones? What would you suggest? And yes, I know the color's weird on here. I changed it somehow and can't seem to fix it. It's the least of my troubles right now though. I gotta find a way to make this thing POP!!! Thank you :)

It's PS CS3. How do I prepare that blending option for screenprinting? That's my concern. Thank you for your quick reply?
yeah i would use halftones... just make a separate screen for the black color

Thank you for the info! Can you tell me how to convert just 1 layer in a document into halftones? After converting, I have a bit more black in the image that I want to be able to print all on 1 screen. The only way I know how to convert to halftones is to change the whole image to grayscale/bitmap and I don't want to do that. Thank you!
