How can I increase my website sales. They are not matching my views

1763 Views 14 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  rini
Hey,

I use big cartel for my e-commerce site.

Last week I had 2,107 website views but I only received 3 orders, and I knew the buyers personally.

Some days I even get up to 800 views with no sales.

I feel if I get 2107 views in a week I should get AT LEAST 10-20 orders.

I have 2 twitter pages 2700 followers and 17k followers and 2 instagrams both have about 3k followers each. I even have people to help me promote.

Can somebody please give me some advice on what to do.

My website is Home | LIS Clothing if you want to take a look at it.

All feedback is welcome, whether it's positive or negative

Curiosity leads them to the website. Eye catching designs keeps them there and makes sales
Most of your shirts have your brand name featured on it. Your brand may mean something to you, but what does it mean to everyone else? Perhaps consumers are not familiar enough with your brand to want to wear it. Offer something that really connects with your target audience.
Your entire "clothing line" is nothing more than your logo. What reason other than knowing your story/ history would anyone want to wear your tees? I never did understand why people come up with what they think is a great logo and think everyone will flock to buy it. You need to have people involved and engage them on a one to one level in order for them to want to wear your gear.

Eye catching website design ? Or eye catching shirt design ?

People in my city love my shirt designs, they will buy them if we meet but for some reason they just don't buy online.
Eye catching designs. As everyone said above its just your clothing name brand nothing else. All these brands on the market that can sell just there names like crooks, diamond, obey, etc. Only do so because they made a name by having skaters and celebs wear them. They don't sell online because it's not your city buying it its the world wide web. You might have made a name in your city but now you need something bigger for the states.

So what have your face to face sales looked like?

If you can sell them in person, get out there and start selling. The more you are out there the more chance you have of getting the web sales moving.

I can sell about 40 a month on average. But I'm a full time college student and I have a part time job so taking them to the post office is easier and saves me money in gas.

Thanks a lot for this. This will have me rethinking my next designs for my website.

So in other words, you thought you could put up a website and sit back while the money machine cranked out cash...... Don't worry that's what a lot of people dream about.

Are the tees just to make a little extra cash while in school or is that the path you plan on taking once out of school?
1) I have no idea what Lis means. Perhaps you should add something to that effect in your FAQ.

2) You only have 6 items in your shop. At least in the realm of webstores, the more product you have, the more you can sell. Honestly, I'm surprised you get that many sales with as small amount of product you have.

I initially started it to make a extra few bucks but over the course of time i've grown to be more serious with it. For my brand to blow up is my dream, my back up plan is getting a career in my major , civil engineering.

Clothing line would be my passion
And finishing school is the back up plan.

Yes, and at anime conventions, we sell hundreds of shirts in a weekend. But, that's at anime conventions, not in the world at large.

Selling in person is not the same thing as selling over the web. Your audience is exponentially larger, the demographic exponentially more diverse, and the signal to noise ratio is so much higher. The skillset and tools for selling in person v. selling over the web is comparing apples to sea slugs. Just like the only similarities are both are carbon-based life forms, the only similarity in webstores v. meatspace is excellent customer service. Other than that, there is no intersection.

I'm not in Maryland, never been to Maryland, prolly only reason why I'd ever go to Maryland is for Otakon. So, what have you got to offer me, Joe Schlub, in Denver, CO? These are the questions you should be asking yourself. Also, brush up on SEO. Googled "lis shirt" and yours doesn't come up.
