Hover Press

We just purchased the Hover Press from Stahl's and would like to know everyone who is currently using this press what do you think? any known problems?

Right now for us -

-its really really squeaking and annoying ..has anyone solved this problem? oiled the hinges? thinking about doing that but don't want to get the oil on the shirts.

-one day the second press pressure jumped from 2 to 8 without us turning the knob

any helpful advice ??? we have had a DK20 auto pop up for 2 years now and wanted something less strenuous and heard great reviews and just want to get these bugs out

Not sure about resolving the squeeking noise, but the pressure can change depending on the thickness of material on top of the heat press bottom platen. This can include any teflon sheets, platen wraps, threading the garment (one layer on the platen and the other below it) vs. double layer, and using thicker garments. So it is possible that the pressure can change without adjusting the pressure know.

You should try and contact Hotronix directly. They have people up there that do assist users with their challenges.

Thanks, its been pretty much the same type of shirt just different sizes.

We plan on calling just wanted to see if anyone here had the same problems.

We have a Hotronix (not sure if it's the same press) 16x20 auto open clam, it's quiet opening and closing as far as squeaks, it does bang rather loud when auto opening, and I would admit that the digital pressure reading is not that precise really more of a reference, but all in all we've had our a couple years and it continues to work great, I'd assume that the squeaks are not normal.

Its the new Hover press..

Its great besides the squeaks :) we fixed the pressure..but still squeaky.

we just got it so if it still does it over the weekend we will call.

really?? hmmm I thought it was newer ..

Reading through the specs it would seem to have upgraded electronics we don't have the "auto sleep mode" but everything else including the color is the same.

Its really nice.. we like it doesn't open up as aggressive as the Digital Knight and is also much easier to pull down.

Love mine. Also have the dk20s, and like the hover much better. Not one issue with mine. Maybe you should try bagged oil for the squeaking. :)

Jon, the Hover press also has the hover setting so when in hover mode and you drop your platen, it won't touch your shirt. Then it lifts and you drop it again and then it touches the shirt. The hover and press modes don't need adjusted other than your initial settings.
