Hello everyone,

I am looking to get a new heat press, and I am deciding between the

Hotronix Auto Open:

Hotronix Heat Press by Stahls Auto Open Clam 16"x20" - Commercial (Full Size T-Shirt Press)

or the Hotronix Fusion

Hotronix Fusion Heat Press by Stahls 16"x20" - Commercial (Full Size T-Shirt Press)

The Fusion has more features, but is not auto open. I will only be running this one press in my shop, and I like the threadibility of the Fusion. Could you let me know what you think? Thanks!

Once you have the auto-open feature you will never get another heat press without it.

I feel like the threadibility is similar, once you have it, you won't want to go back. It will make things much easier, especially because I do many 2 sided designs.

Yep I have been pressing and had to answer the phone or an email,, forgot I had the press down and bang.. remembered that I was pressing a shirt, immediately my mouth exclaimed several words that cannot be repeated here on the forum..

Alright thanks, that actually makes sense. I also remembered they sell a Caddie, so I can make it threadable. Looks like I will be going with the auto open. I don't know if I would really use the preset options, because I really only press a few different materials. Thanks for you advice!

Still a little iffy about the clam shell style though. I liked the swing away, along with the draw style. That way I am never working under the heat. I wish they would just give the Fusion the auto open feature Do you own a clam shell Rodger?

Yep I have a auto-open clam shell and a swing away, I use them both for different things

Do you like the clam, as in is it easy to work with, etc. I have one that broke, but I have never used a swing away before. Just would like to know your opinion.

I like the swing away for sublimation, not so much for shirts,, if you have a bunch of shirts it gets old swinging that press

I will recommend the Hotronix Fusion with a little more money you can add a auto air open. It great for hoodie and bags.

I've been looking at the same 2 presses. I only have a 15x15 now. I've been leaning towards the fusion. I dont really have the room for the swing but I like the draw feature and the thread ability.

I bought the auto clam today, along with the counter caddie, which makes it threadable. Just something to think about, I have a feeling I will be happy with the auto open.

Hey Jarod, I just brought the auto open today as well too, the 16x16 with the heat press caddie, I also purchase the shelves you can attach to the caddie. I'm so excited. I have a vesta 16x20 at home which is going strong, but this one going on the road with me. Now I just have to buy a truck to put it in. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
