Hi - we have a Freejet and it does not have a WIMS system installed on it. We usually print a ton of orders for 2 weeks and then the machine waits around for a couple weeks until enough orders shuffle in. As many of you may already know, the white ink tends to separate (DuPont) after a few days of non-use. Just put Firebird White in the "Freej", and aren't sure if if it separates as quickly. Also wondering if WIMS is completely necessary: Opinions welcome.

The DIY part of this question: I typed in "DIY WIMS" in the search box, but it proved uneventful for me... Have any of you constructed a homemade DIY WIMS system for a DTG? The principle seems easy enough and I am definitely going to waste some time and money trying figure it out. I just wanted to check with other members to see if anyone has been successful in building one, maybe give me a few pointers. Where to buy tubing and what might work as a manifold.

Note* I have a tendency to destroy things that once worked perfectly, just to see how they work... But I really don't want to eff this up:)

I spent the last few weekd making some search to make my own as well identify most of connector, tubing, pump, filter, wanted to add an inline degassing membrane.

Then I change my mind and end up making my own bag ink system, as I read so much benefit from it.

I do print some stuff just to keep it going, just dont want to print everyday (unless it pays)
Wish I could see pics of that Recycle system, that might be what I need...

Those lines in the FJ are probably the longest on any DTG that is comparable in size. So the WIMS would be primarily for the the ink stuck in the lines, as I could already shake the bottle EOD. There probably 8oz in those lines alone. I do have FireBird in there now, am wondering if it requires less shaking

I own a fast t-jet blazer pro and the last week's I have a lot of problems with the white ink, one printhead is completely clocked, so I decided to build myself a wins here some pictures of the pomp I have build, replaced the original motor with a Adafruid stepper motor with good power and as a control unit the arduino mege 2560.
I also ordered some inline vacuum filters with a maze of 0,20 micron .
hope this system will solve the cloaking problem of my printhead in the future.

Do you have the ink circulating continuously or is it set to cycle on and off? Where did you get the code for the Arduino?

My $.02 on the whole white ink circulation topic is this: While it will definitely help in theory..the problem with white ink isn't the seperation in the lines. The issue with the white ink is down in the dampers and head that do not get recirculated with these systems. There are some newer printers that are on the market and coming shortly to market that help with recirculating the ink that is actually in the head/damper assembly so stay tuned!

Works flawlessly my DIY WIMS the White ink circulation system.
I,am running my white ink system now for over 2 months without any problem, no more clogged print head.:D
