There are several older posts on this subject that actually didn't fully answer the question. Maybe an attorney needs to be consulted. Anyway, here is the question again. Do public high schools have copyright protection or licensing protection or any other kinds of protection from printers using the school name and logo on shirts etc. and selling them to the public at retail? That is with not giving any of the proceeds to the schools. I live in Michigan if that makes any difference.

It would depend on the school and logo A lot of them use a standard clip art or have co opted a college or pro sports logo. Some commission an artist or have a competition for their logo.

But, check with each school.

Private schools for sure. In California the public schools are a mess. Checking with them is a waste of time.
