Your best bet for short runs is heat press vinyl. This allows you to do one off designs or short runs of one or two colors. If you get a larger order, you can always out source it to a screen printer.

I'm actually in favor of screen printing if you know the quotes you want ahead of time and can gang them up on a screen. This only would be good if you do the printing yourself though or if you have large orders. IF you don't print yourself the others are probably right about vinyl

i use an Oki Data CLC (color laser copier) with Joto Papers or Neehah papers. They are the Manufatures of "Paropy" Joto, Image CLip (Neehah) All the rest like conde systems, tranfer magic, are middle men. I deal directy with Joto, Neehah and so should you! I deal directly with the t-shirt mills. I don't need a middle man. Oki Data 8300 or 8800 are CLC printers that you do heat tranfers. You need the paper from the 2 vendors and print in mirror image. The colors are so vivid that your customers will be amazed. It is so cleap to use a color laser copier than it is to screen print. Mind you, screen printing is not cheap. You need at least a order of 3 doz. (36 shirts) the cost of the screens. Which is $35.00 each color or $50.00 each color. That can add up. also, you can give a sample in less time it takes to print on a screen machine to the customer. I have yet to see a vinyl machine that can reproduce colors as vivid and as fast as my Oki Data can. It boils down to this: how fast can you print a sample in the colors the customer wants. The faster the better. Customers are "Visual" You get a sample of what it is they want to them, and, you will have the business.
