HHHEEELLPPPP!!! My 1400 just quit!!!!

3358 Views 16 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  wesfll
I was having trouble with lines in my printing, I had to do SEVERAL head cleanings and finally got to print a job. When I went to print the next job, the paper jam and ink lights are flashing and gives me the following message:

"Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation."

Got no helpful information from Epson's tech support and as it would happen, I need to get 100 shirts out the door tomorrow!!!! Has anyone ran into this and somehow fixed it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

My film for screen printing did jam up once but I don't remember having this kind of problem. Did you try turning off the printer? I will look for more info.

Yeah, tried turning it off, unplugging it, taking ink system out and putting stock in, kicking, screaming and even gouging.....Nothing worked.....Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
I have never heard of that message. If tech support can't help you and you are under that much of a gun, I would run (not walk) and get another printer.

I had to edit this.....This is why I always keep a spare printer.

Yeah, that is my plan for tomorrow, but anywhere that has a 1400 is closed for the night....Was hoping it was some kind of glitch someone could help me with.....

OH...and this is my spare printer.....The one I was using quit 3 weeks after I bought a backup....
So sorry that I can't help. Checked around on the internet but can't find an answer.
It sounds like the 1400's waste tank is full. If you can find a Epson maintenance program on the web to reset the counter for the tank you might be able to get it going again. But, the waste tank is probably full from head cleanings and power cleanings and needs to be emptied as well.

I was just reading about that....Thank you very much....Time to search the net now....
OK...After some helpful advice from the previous posts and some digging on the internet, I found out that Epson has a download that resets the counter right on their website....I will pop the side off of it and clean out the waste ink sponges and line tomorrow....At least there is a fix!!!!!! I wish their tech support would have just pointed me in the right direction, but I can understand they have to assume the consumer cannot handle this kind of operation, so they dont....But, thank you to the ones who took the time to help me out!!!!!
I just ordered a 1400. I'm glad I saw this posting. Waste tank? That's going to be a new one for me. I'll have to keep all this in mind and check it out when it gets here.
I recently had mine go out too. I tried tech support and at the end of all the trouble shooting they recommended I take it to a factory authorized repair facility. I just went to frys the next day and bought a new one. Mine was two years old and I couldn't see spending anything over a hundred dollars for a printer that sells for 3 hundred dollars. My thinking was if I spend the money to fix it, I still get a two year old printer with no warranty not to mention the downtime.
your waste ink pad is full, here's how to fix it

you should install a waste ink tank externally even you have epson software to reset it.
