Hey. A fellow entreprenuer and I have been lurking this forum recently after deciding screen printing was not for us and purchasing a 16x20 Maxx Stahl heat press. Thank you all for the wellspring of information. We do not have the press in the mail yet but this forum has been very helpful.

Also, I would appreciate knowing whether it would be worth it to purchase teflon pads to protect my upper and lower platen of my press. Thank you in advance.

You will need a teflon sheet for the bottom of the press. Our is permanently taped to the platen. We place a sheet of "protective paper" (which is just butcher paper) over the transfer/substrate to protect the top heating element.

I see. Thank you! We just got the press in yesterday. I was eager to try it out this morning but after reading this I will wait to put something on it first.
