Hey Everyone,
I have just recently acquired a sprint. Lately I have been printing One off's white shirts only, so speed really didn't make a difference to me.

Does anyone out there have a problem with their head or machine having a delay while printing? In other words, every couple lines, the head pauses for a second or two during the printing process. Most printers I have seen, including the one at anajet, print with the head moving left and right without any delay or pause during the printing process.

At first I thought it may be that my file is too big. However, the file size is only text one color, and is a jpg that is only 353kb. Again, this is on a white shirt. I'm sure way smaller than the pirate multicolor print I saw at anajet printing off their sprint.

Then, I thought it was my computer, however I am running XP with 3gig ram. So I don't believe that this is the issue.

This pausing during printing didn't bother me at first because I was doing such short runs. Now, I have have just acquired a some what of a large order for 300 shirts, and its quite frustrating watching this head pause for a second or two every two or three lines. The image size is 12.5 vertical and 10 horizontal. I know it doesn't sound like much because it is only a second or two during every 2 or 3 lines. But is does add up. 30 to 60 seconds in pauses can equate a lot in process time per shirt. Is this normal?

Can some please help?

Thank you and I look forward to your response.

If the job is completely processed and still does it, as recommended by trifate, check your USB cable. If it's longer than 6 ft, you will want to invest in a shielded cable. If it's not, I would replace it to see if you are still having the problem.

If you are still having the issue, then you will want to check your head cables to make sure everything is connected properly. Your print head may be getting hot and the pauses are there to keep it cooler. Pull out the head cables from the print head and inspect them. Make sure they are clean and all the contacts are straight and not bent. If they are bent, unfold them and try to flatten them well. If they are dirty, you can take a pink pearl eraser and rub it on the contacts. The direction (instead of simply erasing) should be from the inside of the cable outward, this helps avoid damaging your contacts. If none of that works, then I would look at replacing the print head.

Is it moving to the left and pausing(over the "spit" tray)? It's normal for this to happen every few cycles. If it's happening elsewhere and it's happening at the beginning of the day at a normal room temp, I would say communication (USB). Check the cable and try a different socket. If it happens more(and more often) during a long run, it may be the head is overheating.
