Hey Lemorris,

I'm not a car artist, so this tutorial really comes in handy for me! Thanks for sharing it on the board:)

You know, I just charge by the job and try not to count hours. That'll drive you crazy.

:)

Actually I could turn that in a couple days if I had to. I usually work on 5 or 6 projects at a time though so things get shifted according to deadline and my tendency to get distr.....OOOO LOOK A BIKE!!!!

:)
SNEAK us a peak at what you might charge someone for a design like this that you may have 10-12 hours In.. I love to sit around an fantasize about the day I get to create and draw like Lemmoris.. but actually I find I lose interest somewhere in that 3-4 hour time frame..)

If this was for a dealership or a high end client it would be over 4 figures. Big companies pay more because they can. I can't walk into a dealership and get a car for $50....they ain't gettin my art for $50.

:)

If it's something I wanna do and it's for a VW person I might charge them like $600 - $800 or so with the stipulation that I get to resell the cars for other design work. If I get to re-purpose the vehicles I can actually make more than I would charge for 1 full design.

I do that a lot. That way I can make it affordable and still get paid for my time.

:)

For re-purposed designs I try to charge what folks can pay. Sometimes it's like $150 if all I gotta do is layout and text, sometimes a bit more....just depends. What the shirt is for matters to me. I try to present flexible options to fit most budgets.

someone just asked me for a link so I'm replying to this so they can see it.

Note: I'm still doing it this way, but there have been a few setup tweaks. LOL

Very nice Lemorris. I've always been a fan of your work and style and have passed your contact info to some potential customers. Hopefully they'll contact you at some point. :D

Keep up the great work!
