Hi guys

I was sent a file in .psd format. The file is 9.4mb in size so I can't attach it here! The image was made up of quite a few layers. I flattened the layers into one.

As my RIP (Neorip for Neoflex) won't print directly from Photoshop I saved the the image in a .png format to preserve the transparency of the background. The flattened image is attached.

When loaded into my rip software, it clearly illustrates where the white ink will be printed (see attached pic), however, when I print to the Neoflex the white under the shield and its border doesn't print at all!

Can anyone give me a reason for this and maybe I can work out a remedy :D

See the various pics attached and all should be as clear as mud :)

Thanks

What is the color space? Not familiar with Neorip. If you look at the file in Photoshop, do you have an extra transparency mask or alpha channel?

Thanks for the tips guys.

I did save the file as .tif with layers - it grew to 64mb! But, it did print the white where it was supposed to go :)

I've hosted the .psd file here https://www.yousendit.com/download/UFVwSXQ2U1BWRDljR0E9PQ It's 9.3mb in size if you care to look at it.

The logo is destined for a left breast polo so 64mb is a bit overkill :)

Cheers

The more important thing right now with the 64mb TIF is that it prints the way it should. Having a small 9.4mb PNG file is nice only if everything is OK..
I'm delighted to have a 64mb file that prints correctly :). I was surprised to find it had grown so large though.

You can also try saving it in PSD or PDF format and see how they print.
Regrettably my rip software won't accept .psd or .pdf formats, hence I was seeking an alternative.

I'd never heard of saving .tif with layers and it's great to know, it achieved the my goal albeit with a much greater files size.
