OK I just set up my new TransPro 16x20 press and did the first shirt...
now, I'm not exactly sure if I used not enough heat or pressure (followed directions for the JPSS transfers) but the transfer looks like it didn't fully "transfer" onto the shirt.

you can see where there's the white spots where it's supposed to be red and also in the black letters you can see some white...like small spots of the transfer didn't adhere to the shirt...
also, the shirt-where the design is-feels kinda rough...should it be smooth or rough-feeling?

should I add more pressure or more heat or both?

and then the transfer after the application looks like this...

First off did you prepress the shirt to make sure you didn't have any extra moisture in the shirt? Prepress for about 10 seconds.

Second for material you need firm pressure. I don't know if your press has an automatic pressure adjustment or a turn dial. If it's a turn dial.. light pressure = can close and lock press with 2 fingertips.
Medium pressure = can close and lock press with one hand. Firm pressure = can close and lock press with 2 hands and some elbow grease.

After pressing transfer, remove transfer. Gently stretch design on fabric. Place sheet of parchment paper (available in the cooking supplies section of the grocery store by aluminum foil, wax paper, etc) over the top of your design and press again for 5-10 seconds.

Also make sure you are using pigment ink. Epson durabrite is pigment ink. If you have an epson printer you can buy refillable carts and bulk pigment ink from cobraink.com.

I did pre-press the shirt for a few seconds but not 10 seconds...and the pressure is pretty high...a little hard to press down with one hand so I'll tighten it up a bit...it's got the dial that you turn on the top-center of the top plate.

Sounds like my press. They do make some with a pressure setting. Not sure if you dial in a number or just digitally put in a number but the pressure dial works fine for me. Just be careful not to set your pressure so high you break the handle!
