Help with setting up a plotter

1322 Views 12 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  BrianHahn
Hi, I am hoping someone may be able to help, I have purchased a plotter off ebay without drivers, and for the life of me can't seem to find out the brand or how to set it up. The only information I have is on the product information tag: Name of product Cutting Plotter, Type Number JK870, and it is a RS232 connection not usb, but I do have the serial to usb lead if that helps.

I think this cutter comes from Kaxing Hefei Kaxing Digital Control Equipment Co., Ltd.

There is a contact us form so perhaps send an email and request the Windows drivers for the JK870.
I don't think a normal serial to usb will work, you will need one of these Serial to USB Adapter cable, Windows 8 32 / 64-bit, Linux and Mac

And you will need a male to female converter to use it..

I was chatting with Kaxing this evening and confirmed that they make the JK870.
Hi, sorry for the delay in responding, I now have the plotter driver, but still getting nowhere, I have ordered a different serial cable as recommended, so I will wait for that to arrive and try again, thanks again for all your help.
Did the driver self install or does it need to be installed through Device Manager?
Hi Brian, it seemed to install by itself with no problems. It was a .exe file.
No, still waiting for the cable lol
Hi, cable arrived this morning, but still not sure how to set it up, any help would be appreciated.
I should be online around 6pm AZ time today. I can hook in and try to help you get setup if you like. PM me your info.
