Hey Guys,

I just started sellling my shirts and I am about to go to trade shows to sell to retail buyers.

I was wondering what is a good margin (profit per shirt) to make when i sell to buyers. I noticed some people selling for $8 - $10 in profit per shirt.

Any suggestions??

I have also heard that buyers buy starting with low quantities, even as low as 10. How do I make sure i make good profit/shirt? or is it one of those, take the small profits since your a start-up and hope for large future gains?

Thanks guys!

As stated this question gets asked a trillion times. Offline Retail and Tradeshows - T-Shirt Forums

Those people that are getting $8. - $10 profit probably are not selling wholesale but individul shirts. maybe even low volum. If you going to trade shows your not selling to retail buyers but wholesale to retail stores who in turn sell to retail buyers. I don't know what trade shows you are talking about. if you visit gift shows like I have in LA and San Fransico you will see many companies selling tees and apparel. A lot of the product is made off shore and sell for low margins but high volume. trade shows are expensive to do and if you are there to recap cost then rethink that. You are there to establish you business. Also if you are using the term trade show to be something else like craft or something like a car show then that is totally different. Then there you are going to sell to the visitor of those shows.
