A couple of weeks ago my husband and I received our new stahls 16x20 heat press and some purchased heat tranfer design aswell as t's. We read over every thing and decided to try some shirts. The problem is that we followed the directions exactly and well when we washed the shirts the designs started to come off. Also some of the designs did not adhere well at all to the shirts. Is there some thing that we are doing wrong? Please offer some advice or help. This is really frustrating to my husband and I. We don't want to sell these designs to anyone with these types of issues.

If you can provide some more info we can probably help What kind of heat transfers are you using? What temp and you pressing them at? How long are you pressing them for? How is the pressure on your press? Is it easy to open, hard to open or somewhere in the middle? The type, heat, time and pressure will have a result on how your transfers come out

I am interested in the answers to this problem as well. I have also been just getting started with my machine - a HIX 15x15. My pressure is somewhere between medium and high. I did several designs yesterday, with varying results. Temp was 385, time was 10 - 12 sec. I had several designs that transferred semi well - but not really good (they were tests for my grandchildren so those customers were pleased) but I could not have used them for any other customer. I found that there would be one area on the transfer that did not completely transfer to the tshirt or sweatshirt. It was not the same area in every design. Your advice is greatly appreciated. I apologize if I was not to interrupt this with my own problems.

Sorry, I cannot post pic right away - as I said - the shirts went home with my Grandchildren! The transfers came from proworldinc
I believe them to be good transfers - and some of the ones I tried worked beautifully - so I am lead to believe it is error or misapplication on my part - just don't know what or how! The problem on the designs in questions was in one area of each transfer - more of the image was left on the transfer paper than on the shirt. I tried to reheat when I saw that it was not peeling off evenly - that did not work at all. What else can I trouble shoot??

Pictures are real important so they can be alerted to what transfers folks are having problems with. Just go on the website pull up the image, right click and save to your desktop. Post up the pic and we can probably determine the manufacturer.

There are people having problems with certain transfers and sometimes certain colors. Its good to know what transfer and what company produced the images. I use and like Pro-World but they dont actually make the transfers.

For now I just want to see the actual image you purchased.

I usually press at 400 degreesF with med. to average pressure for 10 seconds.

I have run into transfers that needed special settings simply because they didnt work correctly. I have run into a bad red ink situation as well. On my next set of the same images those problems were gone. That tells me there was a problem in the manufacturing or the transfers were old or over gelled.

Yes, I am preheating the bottom platen of the press and then pre-pressing the garment before applying the transfer.
