Hello

I'm very new to Screen printing.

Is there suppose to be the image of your last print on the screen even after cleaning off the ink and emulsion? Did I do something wrong with exposing the light too long?

It looks like a faded version of the design still on the screen (I did not use ink cleaner but always washed the screen after using so nothing ever dried)

How do I remove spots of emulsion that I can't get rid of and is it okay to use it in that condition?

It's common for ghosted images left in the screen. You just need to use dehazer to remove.
If you have emulsion left (and now dry) in your screen, it most likely is locked on for good now.
You also never want to allow emulsion remover to dry on your screen. This will also crosslink and permanently lock on emulsion onto your screen.
If the emulsion that's still on your screen isn't blocking your print area, you could still use your screen.
Otherwise, no.
Remember too, that you need good water pressure to remove emulsion (with a pressure washer).

Thanks for the info! Do you have any suggestions for websites to purchase products instead of silkscreeningsupplies.com

I've gotten a couple products from them that didn't seem to be new and the shipping is kind of killing me right now.

There are many suppliers several listed in the preferred vendors list to the left.

It seems something has happened over there at Ryonet. To me it seems the harder they try the more they screw up. I knew they were in so transition with product and software.

I have saved a lot of money switching.

They are my main supplier.
You should definitely contact them if you have any issues with their products.
They have always stood behind them with me.
Thanks

I like using Ryonet but I was just wondering if there were other good places out there. I always like to check out different stores maybe sometimes there's sales or cheaper stuff or something. I have been getting some damaged goods and i think old chemicals for washing though.

I am using Franmar products for my cleaning chemicals as they are enviro safe. I am ordering from spot color supply. They now have IC inks 7600 series which Ryonet quit carrying. One of the salesman from Ryonet told me that IC discontinued them.

Ryonet tries to go above and beyond and they use to succeed. The last 2 orders with them 1 was missing the ink saying it was out of stock. 3 weeks later I call and they said it came in the next day after my order had shipped and couldn't tell me why it had not shipped. The last one I called after 6 weeks of no receiving a order over a $1000. I canceled and got my money back. I guess I'm not a big enough shop to care about.

Franmar DeHaze is excellent for removing ghost images and
Beanie-Do - Soybean based screen cleaner.
In my opinion best products out there.
can buy direct from FranMar or they have regional suppliers
Don't for get the stripedoo. Emulsion remover. It strips photopolymer like it was never exposed.
