sublimation would be easy to print full color onto baby items, but this only really works on white garments,
vinyl for baby garments i would not recommend, maybe plasitol transfers would work as well, but i would also check with what inks you are allowed to use on baby clothes,
direct to garment is best but is quite expensive to set up.

i would say sublimation from Epson or ricoh printer is most cost effective, i used to use the Epson r1900 with sublimation ink and heat press onto garment.

as most baby garments are white or pastel colors.

hope that this is some help...

I'd completely disagree with freddie, I would not screen print unless you are planning on printing many garments at a time.

And I would not sublimate because as freddie mentioned you can only sublimate on white garments and also you can NOT sublimate on cotton and I'd imagine baby grows and such are 100% cotton mostly.

If I were going into this I'd use vinyl or even better embroidery.

Not sure I'd waste my time dtging baby clothes. cant even see how it would be possible on something like a R-jet even with a youth box

Freddie gave some good advice wrt inks. You need phthalate-free inks in the states for kids if you use plastisol. I'd assume this is something already in place in Europe, but worth checking out, them confirming with a transfer manufacturer, if you decide to go the plastisol transfer / screen print route.

I'm also unsure how many baby garments are 100% polyester these days. Not having a kid, I'm a little out of touch, but everything used to be cotton!
