HELP on DIY project

So I was looking on ebay and saw someone was selling a manual on how to build a screen printer. It doesn't sound that hard. Has anyone had experience building their own? I Just want to build a one color screen.

Also, has anyone had experience building their own wash out tank? What kind of supplies would you need?

Thanks

One color press is super simple. There are free plans you can google. Here are the plans for a 4 color press designed by a forum member.

Thanks for the post, it was very helpful.

I am wondering if anyone could share how to make a washout sink. Like designs and materials needed.

Thanks
In order from easy to hard in my opinion to build yourself:

drying cabinet
flash dryer
washout sink
exposure unit
conveyor dryer
4 colors or more press

The press is the only one I wouldn't try to build on my own, but it can be done.
How could you build your own conveyor dryer? I am very interested in that. They are freaking expensive!! And shipping is a ton on these.
If you're happy welding I've got some plans for a 1 and 4 colour DIY screen printer (mainly metal rather than wood).

I can email them to you/ send you a download link (or anyone else who wants them) if you PM me.
And if anyone has any flash dryer plans that they'd like to share please PM or email me (MSN is in my profile).

Thanks :)
1 colour T-shirt presses are easy to make but how DIY is the project?
Personally I stand in my garden with a hosepipe!
If it is a really DIY project I wouldn't spend the money on getting everything you need perfect, I would spend your money on buying tshirts and inks and just use old cupboards, hosepipes and air drying things.

how long can these presses last? My concern is of the wood eventually warping from heat of a flash unit.

use a good dense hardwood

Actually I would recommend using a manufactured wood product like MDF. Wood doesn't warp directly from the heat but from contraction and expansion as the wood gains or loses moisture unevenly. We used to make palets out of MDF with a melamine face and they were pretty durable and held up well to flashing. The melamine is easy to clean and provide a moisture barrier which helps prevent the wood from changing shape. They are also pretty cheap. Look in the shelving section of your local Lowes/Home Depot.
The plans that I have are metal- PM me if you want them.
