Hi. I am looking to design custom t shirts and am currently working with a wholesaler who makes all of my designs. However, moving forward, I would really like to know WHAT design software/program is being used to make them so that I can do it myself.

Basically, the designs are various size circles in any color imagineable, with either a word, an initial, a number in the middle and then around the perimeter, you customize it with a name that is repeated all the way around.

These designs can either be made into iron ons or silkscreened to garments.

Please help me identify this program.

Thank you!

without knowing the file extension, i would guess they are probably using Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw... basically a vector based program would be ideal for that style of designs. You could always use a bitmap editor like AdobePhotoshop or CorelPaint but a vector program would be more ideal.

Just a note, often Vector based programs are the more challenging to learn to use but it is worth the time to learn it.

I have been very happy with corel draw, Upgraded to X4. Works well with vectors and when I need to edit raster images they edit in corel PHOTO-PAINT included with the software package. when I save the image in Photo-paint the image is updated in Draw. I also like the working with mono-chromes to test color changes be for comiting to the screens.

Before you buy anything download "GIMP" for free online. It's comparable to photoshop & most design software. Try using that to get started. If it doesn't meet your needs, then buy something. Design programs aren't cheap.
