I installed WordPress last night and I am using HostGator as hosting. I was watching a video tutorial on to create a ecommerce site using WP and I got to the point where I downloaded it (14 hrs ago) and when I click on URL where the download is located it takes me back to a GoDaddy page (where I registered domain). According to video I should see a page where I can start editing etc. Is there something I may have did wrong or that I can fix this with? Have contacted support but thought I would try here also.
HostGator has truly magnificent customer support. My recommendation is to start a LiveChat session with someone on their support team and they will take you right through the process. I've found them excellent to work with.
If you bought the domain from godaddy and are hosting the site on hostgator, you probably just need to change the name servers to hostgator's. There's probably a tutorial on how to do it on HG, and their CS should be able to help easily.
And when the domain comes up for registration again, use HG not godaddy to make it easier.
Thanks for the replies. HostGator sent me a detailed explanation that I need to change the name servers and how to it. Just have to wait for it to take effect.
