Help: HTV on womans tee's is stretching/rippling

4866 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  pippin decals
so I bought a cutter and press, did some research watched youtube vids etc.. Bought siser easyweed and ended up buying Next Level ladies V necks based on good reviews about vinyl sticking on nicely, I made my wife a birthday tee and as soon as she put it on I got these ripples on the tee obviously from the breast, I made myself a couple tees and no problems on my end :) is there a solution to this? I can't imagine this being a common thing, I would definitely not be happy if i paid for something and that happened.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try thermoflex turbo or stretch,
or sef flexcut x4
or fusion cut by tdf

place tee on bottom platen, don't stretch it on
sticky brush tee, prepress for 5 secs, then press
remove carrier, cover with parchment and repress for 10 secs (unless using the turbo or x4 then only 4 secs),
or if it is a warm/cold peel, then wait to repress

Should have used a flex vinyl. they're built for lycra etc and when applied look just like its been painted on.

Thanks I'll check it our right now and maybe order a yard to try, trial and error ;)
forgot to mention joto's multicut comes in 'turbo' and 'stretch'

this is also made in germany by poli-tape (ie themoflex),
but usually at a better price point

Thank you, I missed this comment somehow my aplogies. I think i'll be checking out thermoflex stretch next, I ended up buying some cad cut premium plus which is stretchy but I wasn't a fan of the warm peel and there's still some rippling but at least it goes back to normal the picture I posted stayed that way even after my wife took it off, what exactly does the sticky brush do?

Sticky brush = Lint roller

Clean off the print area of anything that may be on the shirt. You would be surprised all the stuff that comes off brand new shirts. Use a lint roller over the print area so you dont trap it under the print as well as the adhesive has a nice clean area to bond to.

i use parchment paper for initial and second press
may or may not make a difference
but my thought process is that it is akin to cooking a steak over a fire or cooking it over coals,
the parchment acts as a slight barrier to the flaming top platen
plus it is cheap-cheap at costco

i use a south korean stretch that is a cold peel
so we do the first press, then line them up to cool
peel and then do the second press

hoodies we find take a little more pressure and time,
so you might want to do some wash trials to find your sweet spot

I use siser stretch with no problems. when you use regular easyweed and it gets stretched ,this will happen. You basically stretched an non stretchable material which causes what you seen.
